Stevi B's

There was no school on Monday. So I arranged a tour of Stevi B's for our MOMS group. The kids got to roll dough, put sauce, cheese and toppings on the pizza and put them in the ovens.  They also got to take a short tour of the kitchen. It is small there.  They were rewarded with tokens and played until their pizzas cooked.  Then we got to have lunch.  Not the best food but for $4, it was perfect. Everyone had fun, no meltdowns, and we got out of the house. What could be better?

Holy SNOW!!!

Last Friday we had a huge snowstorm (by Ga. standards). It started snowing around 1pm. It was still falling when we went to sleep.  We got about 4" of snow in total. I think it was the most snow since I moved here in 2000.  The kids were thrilled!

They played outside in it on Friday when it was falling.  There were many snowballs thrown.  Rebecca, Tyler and Ryan all went down the slide on our play set.  Jason really enjoyed it although he couldn't walk in his snow boots.

On Saturday Tyler, Ryan, and Rebecca went outside to build a snowman. They built a Mickey Mouse snowman with our neighbors Ryan and Matthew. 

A week of many birthdays....

So last week was full of birthday's and birthday parties. 

Paige and Erica both celebrate their birthdays a day apart which called for a nice dinner at Bonefish with all the girls.  I am so lucky to have this great group of girlfriends to celebrate my life with. We all have so much fun together and have great conversations.  It is always a fun night whenever/wherever we go.  Our super creative friend Carrie sewed some gifts for them which were so great. They were just perfect. And the food, drinks and dessert at Bonefish was all sooo good. If you've never been before, you should definitely go there.

On the weekend, Rebecca went to a pirate themed party. She said it was the best birthday ever. It was at the same place where she and Brett had their party. And now Tyler is thinking about a pirate party.  I need to start thinking about ideas.  Jason and Tyler went to a party at Monkey Joes.  Thankfully the hosts of this party booked a private jumping room.  Monkey Joes + weekend = mass chaos.  When I walked I was in fear and then I went in the private room. It was great!  Of course I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the dads or the kids.  And we did have an adult casualty...(only in our group of friends would this happen).

Saturday night we went out for another friend Matt's birthday.  We had dinner at a local sportsbar and then went to the Buford Variety theater for the comedy show.  It was so good.  Everyone should go there at least once. I was laughing so much I was afraid to take a sip of my drink. I kept thinking I would end up spitting it out in a fit of laughter. I'm telling you this was such a fun night.  Ryan and I have decided that we need to go back there every couple of months since we enjoyed it so much. Anyone in?

Sunday night was the Super Bowl.  I was pleasantly surprised to watch the Saints win. I didn't see it coming but they definitely deserved it.  We went to Super Bowl party at our friends house. It was lots of people with babysitters upstairs watching the kids.  Rebecca liked the babysitter so much she didn't want to leave.  That night we also semi celebrated the host and hostess' birthday.  They both celebrated them over the last 2 weeks, so there was cake and a cookie cake (yummy).  It was a really nice night...and the week of birthdays ended on Monday.  Jason (and I) went to a mini birthday party/playgroup for a little girl in his playgroup.

Is January really over?

Okay so our weekend the last time I wrote didn't go exactly as planned.  The baby got sick on a Thursday... he was better on Saturday but then Tyler came down with it. So our dinner plans with friends had to be axed.  And since I went out for a girls night the evening before, Ryan went out on bowling with the guys Saturday night.  Sunday was spent nursing the sick little boy with his hurt neck(he meant throat).  We went to visit our great doctor on Monday. She confirmed that the poor little guy had strep throat.  He got two doses of amoxicillin in him and all was right in his world.  Of course not for Rebecca and me who both came down with a nasty stomach bug, probably from the visit to the md. office the day before.  Jason also caught the stomach bug that week.  Fortunately (for me) that was the week I was getting to go visit with Catherine and Nick so I got to leave the sick house for a while.

Oh and the day I left was Rebecca's game day at POP. It was so cute.  Her class was the Saints. Both of her teachers are from the New Orleans/Baton Rouge area. They had the cutest cheers made up.  And the school set up such fun games for them.  Outside they played volleyball, frisbee, tee-ball, soccer and kickball. Inside they had hockey, gymnastics, football, basketball, golf and tennis. It was so cute.  And of course a "super" (you all know those moms I am talking about...I so wish I had it together enough to be as creative as they are) mom from Rebecca's class made jello molds of footballs and helmets for the kids as well as sports themed cupcakes.  The class had a sports event themed lunch and all the kids got medals when the day was over.  It was great.

The weekend was great...extremely relaxing. Catherine and I spent Friday at her doctors office and registering for the baby.  Catherine and Nick have picked a name....finally! I was about to go crazy with all the indecision.  Baby girl is now Kennedy Grace.  I know, it is perfect, right? I can't wait to spoil her rotten.  We also went out for a nice dinner and lunch the next day. Of course a trip to NJ in the winter wouldn't be complete without snow so we rented some movies and hunkered down for a night in. Poor Nick almost had to watch chick flicks with us but found some jobs to do around the house.  Speaking of the house, they have done so much work to it since the last time I visited.  It looked great then, but looks even better now.  I am excited for my next trip up in March because I know some of the projects on the horizon and I can't wait to see them completed. My weekend was rounded out with a great visit with my college friend Sara.  We went to her house for lunch. Her house is so nice as well. I hadn't been there since Catherine got married and they were only under contract then. So this was the first time inside.  It is a great house...lots of character in a suburb of Philadelphia. Lunch was great but catching up was even better. I was a little sad to come back home but ready to see my babies. I missed them while I was away.
