Easter egg hunt, t-ball parade, visit to NJ for Catherine's baby shower, and Curious George all wrapped into one ...

Okay let me first apologize. I know it has been a while. I kept meaning to spend some time on the computer updating but life got in the way.  These past couple of weeks have been busier than ever.  So let me get started.

Tyler's team participated in Bufords Opening Day Baseball parade.  The kids rode in the back of a pick up truck and threw beads out to the crowd. For mom, it was terrifying.  I was certain that he would end up on the side of the road because he fell/jump out.  I wanted to be in the truck with him at the very least or I wanted Ryan to put a leash on him to keep him close by. Ryan thought I was overreacting.  Only one other mom seemed concerned about the whole truck thing... so he did it.  No falling out.  Tyler had lots of fun.  Rebecca and Jason had a great time gathering up loads of candy in the road.

We also participated in my MOMS group Easter egg hunt.  Lots of new faces to our club who were all there, but many of the old faces were missing.  It was a little bittersweet.  Rebecca had school that day so it was Jason, Tyler and myself.  It was one of our first beautiful days of the season. The hunt took all about 30 seconds but the kids had a blast. It was held at a local park so we had a picnic lunch and got to stay and play for a while.  It was a great time.

The next weekend, Tyler, Rebecca, grandma Tina and I made a whirlwind trip up to NJ for a 4 day weekend.  Catherine's baby shower was on Saturday.  So we drove up on Thursday. It was a good day for driving, no rain or anything.  And we drove through Washington DC so that was cool.  We left Ga. around 7:30am and got to Catherine's house at 8:30pm.  Not too bad.  Rebecca was brave not scared of Rocky this time.  Tyler took a little time getting used to him before he was okay.  On Friday, we went to visit Catherine's class.  We had lunch in the teachers lounge and then Rebecca and Tyler made a craft with the kids. We spent the rest of the day doing last minute prep work for the shower.  Saturday was Catherine's shower.  It was really nice.  The food was delicious.  She received lots of great gifts and tons of books.  It was so great to see family and friends we haven't seen in a while. We helped straighten up the baby stuff and Sun we were off.  Back to Georgia!  It was crazy but a good time.

On Good Friday, we were invited to go to the Fox to see Curious George Live and out for lunch afterwards.  Watching Tyler watch a show is an experience not to be missed.  He gets so excited and into the show.  It is so funny.  Rebecca just sits there engrossed and taking it all in.  Tyler is clapping, dancing and singing to the songs and he doesn't even know the words.  After the show, one of our friends suggested we walk to a restaurant near the theater for lunch. Her hubby recommended it and they were able to get us reservations for 11.  It was Mary Mac's Tea House.  It is southern cooking at its best.  I had a 4 vegetable plate and they were delicious.  All the other veggies I sampled from my friends plates were so good. After lunch, we had to head back home to go take some Easter pictures.  All in all it was a great day for me to get to spend with the older kids.
