Fat Tuesday/ Mardi Gras

Okay so I know I say this all the time.  But I LOVE where the kids go to pre-school. They are exposed to so much and have learned so much in our years there. Last week was no exception.

We had our yearly Fat Tuesday celebration. This year was a little different. Instead of all the classes making floats and having a parade only the 4 year old classes did this.  The 2 and 3 year olds watched the parade and caught beads.  Jason and I made out like bandits as well. Lots and lots of beads from all the cute kids at POP.  Once the parade was over, there was a lesson about fat Tuesday and how it came about.  Don't tell Miss Kathy, but honestly I didn't pay much attention. How could I?  There were 2 King cakes in the classroom. And they were authentic. One of the families had attended Mardi Gras festivities that weekend and brought them back for us.

Those cakes reminded me of college days and my big sister from KD.  Her mom always sent a King cake around Mardi Gras that we all enjoyed in her dorm room or apartment while we were at Clemson.  Yummy!
